KAI'S BIO
Kai Jetrin hybrid mix of raw talent, mythic catastrophe and rock and roll spirit has enabled him to transcend the expected tag of "rock star”.
Kai Jetrin began singing with a rock band “One Day Grace” back in 1986. The band started out in a two-car garage in the corner of N. Riverside Drive. They entered lots of school talent shows around Fort Worth playing Rock, Punk and New Wave.
In 1988, Kai Jetrin was asked to join a band called Souvenir. The band was first introduced to Kai Jetrin by a local music producer because of his well-known musical multi talent. At that time, the producer was looking for a good local band to produced. Kai Jetrin left the band One Day Grace and joined Souvenir as a front-man that same year. They rented a 24-hour climate control rehearsal place five minutes from downtown Dallas called The Musicbox where they commute an hour to and from on a daily basis.
Later that year, the band release their first studio album called “Fantasy” and it was a success. The band sold their first one thousand copy the same month. They start playing bars in Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, Houston and sometime as far as Arkansas and Oklahoma.
In 1990, the band release a second side project album called Kor (Waiting). The project was called side project Souvenir due to not having all members on board. Only the bass player (Noi), Guitar player (Kemo), Lead vocal (Kai) and new drummer (Steve) was on the project.
In 1996, Kai Jetrin did a special X-Venture project with Grammy Records.
